Target Success Stories

Bruce Bangeman

Berger is the only bullet I'll shoot in competition.

Bruce is a Long Range Benchrest shooter from Roseburg, OR.  He traveled to Sacramento, CA to compete against 40 other shooters at the 2011 NBRSA Nationals.  By the end of the competition, he had set a new 6-target World Record at 600 yds (with one group of 1.145").  Among his other wins during that match, he was crowned the 2011 1000 yd NBRSA National Champion.

Bruce shoots a 6mm Dasher in his Lawton SA 7500 Dual Port rifle, with a Nightforce scope, Krieger barrel, Shehane tracker, and Billy D trigger.  His loads were made from Lapua brass, CCI - BR4 primers, H4895 powder, and Berger 6mm 108gr BT Target bullets.

Bryan Litz
"Everything a target bullet should be."

During the 2010 matches in Brisbane, Australia, Bryan became the first American to win the prestigious Queen's Prize Match.  Going in to the last day of the match, Bryan was in 60th place (out of 185 shooters).  "The 900 and 1000 yard
strings were fired on the last day and the wind was heavy frorn the left. Using the Berger 155.5 grain FULLBORE bullets, I was able to make up the 60 places and win the toumament by a single V-bull. Being the first American to win the Queen's Prize was the experience of a lifetime and a tremendous honor"

Bryan shot a .308 Palma Rilfe, built on a Barnard action, Mastin offset stock, Warner rear sight, and Stallings front sight.  He shot Applied Ballistics FULLBORE ammunition, which uses Berger 30 cal 155.5 gr Fullbore bullets and Lapua cases.  (For more information on this ammo, visit www.appliedballistics.com.)

US F-Class Team
2010 America Cup Team Champions

The US F-Open and F-TR teams traveled to Ottowa, Canada in August 2010 to compete in the America Match.  Team members were Larry Taite, Robert Bock, Paul Phillips, Darrell Buell, Jim Murphy, Bryan Otey, Chris Ozlins, Don Nagel, Steve Knutson, Jeff Rorer, and Michelle Gallagher.  "Berger bullets were used exclusively by the F-Open and F-T/R shooters. All bullets performed flawlessly."

The team members shot various equipment and loads, but all shot either .308 Win, 6.5x284 Norma, 7mm RSAUM, or 6.5x55 Wildcat cartridges.

Gary Hendricks
"The 108s are excellent, and the 115s are the best 600 yard bullet out there!"

Gary is a competitive highpower shooter from Piseco, NY.  He tied the National Grand Senior 200 yd Standing Record with a 196-5x at the PA State Championships in 2009.  He also won High Grand Senior during the National Championships at Camp Perry, OH.

Gary shoots a Mak Tube Gun with H1000 powder and Berger 6mm 108 and 115gr Target bullets.

Matt Kline
"Berger Bullets helped me set my World Records!

Matt Kline is a competitive shooter from Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. In Sept 2010, Matt broke 3 world records at the Original Pennsylvania 1000 yard BenchRest Club in Williamsport, PA. He got the group records with a 2.815” (ten shots at 1,000 yards) which scored a 100-4X. He also broke the 6 match Heavy Gun score Agg record with a 99.0 and the 10 Match Heavy Gun score Agg record with a 96.2.  All three records are impressive, but breaking the 3” mark at 1,000 yards with 10 shots is something many thought would never happen.

Matt shoots a Mark King rifle chambered in 300 WSM with a .338 neck.  Mark built the rifle using a stock of his own design, a BAT action and a Broughton barrel.  Matt used a NightForce 8X32 BR scope for his optics.  He used Norma brass, Federal primers, Hodgden H4350 powder and Berger 210 gr VLD bullets.

Gary Eliseo

Berger’s performance is outstanding!

Gary is a competitive Long Range shooter from Orange, California. Gary won 1st place in the annual 2010 California State Palma Championships that was held in Coalinga.

Gary’s rifle was a CSS BI Palma Rifle loaded up with Match Berger 155.5 BT Fullbore. He also used N150 powder and Winchester brass.
